Hey Huskies! For the first three months of school, our campus has had activity after activity to get us back into the school spirit. Here’s a little recap of all the events we’ve had so far!

A great way to get to know people on campus and bond with our school community is by joining a club! With over 60 clubs and four days of booths, students could find clubs that aligned with their interests and activities. Clubs varied from cultural groups such as the Chinese or Vietnamese Culture Club, to career-based clubs like FPA Sports Medicine or the American Red Cross. “Club Rush is a place where we come together, not just as students, but as communities of passion and interest,” said ASB Clubs Commissioner Nicole Wang ‘24.

She’s not alone in sharing that sentiment. “Club Rush was a way for me to get to know people I never would have met otherwise,” said new Fairmont Prep student Isabel Chang ‘27. “It doesn’t hurt that I have something to look good for college either.”

However, if you didn’t find a club that piqued your interest during this club rush, don’t worry. Next semester, there will be a spring club rush where new clubs will recruit members. Make sure to keep checking your emails for information!

Additionally, on October 3rd, Fairmont hosted its annual college fair. Representatives from over thirty schools came to our campus and were able to talk to students about the application process, college life, and more. There was a significant number of students who attended, bringing smiles to everyone. The college fair allowed many students to open their possibilities when considering colleges. Thank you to everyone who helped set up this amazing event. And thank you, Huskies, for being so cooperative with the colleges.

Coming up, we also have our school Homecoming! As I’m sure many of our students have been looking forward to it, our Homecoming committee has been working hard to bring us yet another fantastic event this year–with the theme ‘On Cloud 9!’ Students will be able to enjoy a variety of activities and fun treats at the dance, hopefully embodying the exact feeling of pure happiness that is being ‘On Cloud 9.’

Leading up to our Homecoming Dance, we’ve had an array of exciting themes and lunchtime activities set up by ASB. Presented by our amazing film crew, themes were announced in our very first Husky Vision episode of the year. Students dressed up in various Y2K spirit clothes all throughout the week. Corresponding decorations have also lit up the school hallways, giving us a wonderful buildup to our Homecoming Rally and dance! We hope all of our students had a great time with all of the Homecoming Week events this year!
